Wuxi No.2 People’s Hospital was founded in 1908.It is a grade A tertiary hospital approved by Ministry of Health, which integrates medical care, teaching, research, prevention and health care. It is among first batch of basically modernized hospital in Jiangsu, an affiliated hospital to Nanjing Medical University, a teaching hospital and master degree station of many medical colleges in Jiangsu.The hospital has complete functions and perfect facilities. It has 1010 beds,4 key clinical department at provincial level (ophthalmology, cardiovascular, liver and cholecyst surgery and neurosurgery),3 key medical departments in Wuxi (neurology, dermatology and 1ab).It has 1066 staff, including 119 medical professionals with senior titles, 12 tutors of master degree postgraduates, 1 post-doctorate, 12 doctorates, 69 masters, 5 specialists enjoying special allowance from the
State Council,1 key trainee of Jiangsu“135 project”, 5 key trainees of Jiangsu“333 academic leaders in new century”and 6 top-notch talents of Wuxi Health Bureau. Total equipment value reaches 150 million yuan. It owns HIS, LIS, PACS and OA information systems and electronic library.
Digitization, informatization and modernization of the hospital have been realized.
In recent years, it has got such honorary titles as“Trustworthy hospital in China”, civilized unit in Jiangsu, advanced unit of study type construction in China, advanced unit of hospital cultural construction in China, example of study type organization in Wuxi and in Jiangsu, advanced grass-root Party organization in Wuxi, advanced grass-root Party school in Wuxi and in Jiangsu and “Youth civilization at state level”.
